Seo-marketing-tips-with-keyword-analysis

There has been so many confusion going around the search engine world where people BELIEVE that the keyword phrase they chose is a winner because it gets 500,000 searches a month with very little competition. Truth of the matter is, it’s the complete opposite because they used the "broad match" filter in which is the WRONG way of finding good keywords and its commercial capabilities.

So what does all this mean?
/>
We’re talking about using the "Google Keyword Tool". You can type it into the search engines and Google’s external keyword tool will show up. It’s the same thing as their AdWords users use. The only thing is is you have to enter a captcha code to indicate that you’re human. So do that if you wish to do so at this time.

Alright, so a little explaination on the different filters.

BROAD MATCH

A "broad" match indicates that the search is based on ANY combination of the words. In example, if the keyword phrase was "learn magic tricks online" the filter is looking for the following:

  1. learn
  2. magic
  3. tricks
  4. online
  5. learn magic
  6. learn tricks
  7. learn online
  8. magic tricks
  9. magic online
  10. magic learn
  11. tricks online
  12. tricks magic
  13. tricks learn
  14. online tricks
  15. online magic
  16. online learn
  17. learn magic tricks
  18. learn magic online
  19. magic tricks online
  20. magic tricks learn

And it just continues. You get the point. THAT’S what the broad match does. It considers ALL the possibilities for that keyword phrase. That’s why the search volume is always so high for keyword phrases with 2 or more keywords.

PHRASE MATCH

What phrase match does is consider whether the keyword phrase is also considered in another keyword term. Here’s an example: magic tricks

This means the FOLLOWING keywords could also be considered:

  1. learn "magic tricks"
  2. "magic tricks" online
  3. "magic tricks" learn
  4. online "magic tricks"
  5. I like "magic tricks"
  6. "magic tricks" are fun
  7. the best "magic tricks"
  8. my secret "magic tricks"
  9. "magic tricks" changed my life
  10. learn "magic tricks" today

Again, it continues with the possibilities. This is why broad and phrase matches does no one any good. It spits out half-truths and you’re stuck trying to figure it out.

EXACT MATCH

The BEST filter to use is the exact match filter. The reason this filter is the best is because it tells you what the search performance is each month based on ONLY that particular keyword phrase in THAT exact order. We use it for all of our keyword research and analysis to know which keywords are the best ones for us and for our clients.

Once you determine the proper keywords to target, you will then have to determine which ones to go for first. We usually do it in 3 phases: easy, medium, hard. Pretty easy, right?

The reason for this is once you conquer the easy keywords, the medium keywords become easier to dominate. Once you conquer the medium keywords, the hard keywords become easier. Makes sense?

If you think you’re done after picking out the highly searched keywords to target, you’re completely wrong! Wait for next week when I explain the most important part in keyword research AND analysis!

As long as your SEO person is:

    1) conducting a serious competitive analysis on your competition
    2) is targeting the right keywords
2.1) casting a wide net with low hanging fruit keywords
    3) ensuring your site structure is sound
    4) you are using effective url structures and not some scripted output gibberish urls like yourdomain.com/script.php?yada-bla#$%%
    5) ensuring your site is active in publishing new information with text and other media formats that is easily crawlable
    and
    6) Acquiring quality backinks, one way backlinks and use of a good anchor text strategy

    …yes it can be done.

An aged domain that has some backlink history can help quite a bit dependent on the competitiveness of your core keyword phrase(s) you're going after. New sites occasionally have difficulty, way ranking #1 organically for the term 'mortgage' if you know what I mean.

    Hope this helps.

If you have a web design company, try finding a SEO company to work with. My company was strictly graphics and web design, and for over a year I outsources all of my SEO jobs to a company I liked. Over the time, I slowly picked up things (all for free) and now I would consider myself very well versed in the field. I have now merged my company with the other to create http://www.Webmosa.com – I am very happy with the way I learned. Plus, if you plan to sell the service you are at least getting trained by actual professionals in the field. SEO changes over time, and one needs to stay on top of the game in order to be the best. Google "Tacoma SEO", within 1 month of the merger and launch of our new site we are already 5th on page one – crushing other companies that have been around for years.

To be the best, learn from the best. SEO books and blogs are often out dated.

Aaron Wall's SEOBook.com is the best, by far. Also, the info at SEOmoz.org is solid.

I'm not connected to either of these organizations, although I know the people involved with them from the SEO industry.

You obviously have a basic grasp of SEO in order to consider this. The key to this ensuring that you do your keyword research correctly and there is onl one tool to use – Google keyword tool (just do a search).

There are many SEO applications/programmes that profess to ensure 'seamless SEO' – if you really must go down this route the two best free options (they are not fully fuctional, but will assist) are IBP and WEB CEO. Invest time reading the in built help section and you should be able to get a lot of help from them.

Please remember – SEO is a specialist practice and these tools should keep you right – they will not automatically get your site ranked for you.

Just one last point – don't use any of the autosubmit tools to submit your site to search engines, I would recommend tha, as with all SEO and online marketing, you get this done professionally – it is your business after all. Good luck!

    Hope this helps

A few hundered dollars will be hard to do, since most of the really good tools out there will eat up your budget. For some BI check out a product called "ranking manager" and check out "compete.com" . KeywordDiscovery is a good tool, but costs a lot. A good way to learn about keywords is to run a small PPC campaign and use direct words "ohio vacations" instead of ohio vacations which will display ads even if someone searches "vacations out of ohio". This will give you an idea of what terms are searched most on google, as the impression count will show you how many searches there were.

Good luck…lots of reading is a head of you.
